Design and art direction for the Groove Effect website, a San Francisco based urban culture e-zine and blog.

Mindful of GE’s large base of existing content, the new design needed to feature clear navigation, usability and highlight specific content to encourage people to click around. Taking on board GE’s request to break out of the mould of the usual blog and e-zine layout, we created a site that would look modern and fresh whilst retaining the navigational ease of the ‘blog site’ structure. Through the use of larger image areas we capitalised on GE’s confident eye for photography.

Along with the art direction of the site, we were asked to design a suite of stationery for the founding partners.

12 months after relaunch, Alexa, the web traffic experts, rated GE as one of the world’s top 20 music blogs.
“Six took our urban lifestyle editorial site, Groove Effect to the next level.  We worked with them to revamp the design, layout, and branding of the site, which helped take us from a style blog to an online lifestyle magazine that we can truly be proud of. If you’re looking to put the cool back in your brand I would definitely recommend Six. They are not afraid to push the boundaries and they have an edge that I don’t normally come across at other design agencies.”
